Hi I'm Matt, and I live in the Piedmont Triad area of NC. Been in a wide variety of weather here from snow and ice storms to heat waves and severe storms, and even a few hurricanes, so naturally the weather intrigues me, and I have deep respect for every type!

It may be too early, but I decided to start a new thread since the past several runs of the GFS have been showing some sort of Winter weather threat around this time frame for parts of the Southeast. The DGEX and Euro have also been hinting at something possibly coming up from the Gulf, though they have their differences in location, thermals, etc.
Lots of time to watch this, as I'm sure the models will go back and forth, or may even lose the system altogether, but we shall see. 0Z GFS..

Wintry precip is falling across parts of the Southeast...

Judging by the past several runs of the GFS today (December 9), parts of the southeast may see Wintry conditions next week, and this one looks like it could be more in the form of ice than snow. Still too early to tell for sure, but it bears watching.
