Why are dewpoints still up in the 60's around our area despite this frontal sweepage? Is it because the wind has been more from the west? Approximately when will all this mix out or when will the drier 40's reach us?

After a soggy September in the Sunshine State, Florida's rainy season will come to an end late this weekend with cooler much drier air sweeping down the peninsula(dewpoints could sink down into the 40's for most). I can finally open the windows and air out the place in Gulfgate!

After flexing a bit this week, the Bermuda Ridge looks to be heading east and weakening by next week. The only fly in the ointment I see is a potential Rex Block that will set-up somewhere around Cal.

Now that models have started to come into better agreement. I've decided to start this thread. But just to be on the safe side, I've opted to label it cool rather then cold for now.

With the PNA forecasted to go positive and the AO/NAO forecasted to go negative by the first week of October, it appears likely a cool down will hopefully greet the Eastern 2/3s of the nation. This should weaken and drive the Bermuda ridge eastward. Giving a taste of Fall even to the Sunshine State.
